The virtuosic dancers of Dallas Black Dance Theatre have mesmerized audiences across 16 countries, including two Olympic Cultural events and over 4.6 million arts patrons worldwide since their founding in 1976. As the oldest professional dance company in Dallas, the contemporary modern dance company is composed of professional dancers who perform a mixed repertory of modern, jazz, ethnic and spiritual works by nationally and internationally renowned choreographers. DBDT has been recognized as the fourth-largest Black dance company and the seventh-largest contemporary modern dance company in the nation. DBDT: Encore! is their professional training company, featuring the best emerging artists from across the nation. Dallas Black Dance Theatre is located in the historic Moorland YMCA building in the Dallas Arts District, which serves as its primary home for its dance studios, training facilities, and administrative oƯices. Dallas Black Dance Theatre is a resident company of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, with their home season performances taking place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre and Moody Performance Hall.
