In celebration of Dallas Arts Month, Dallas Arts District is hosting the annual Changing Perspectives Block Party. This FREE family-friendly event features SWAY, an Australian Vertical Dance Company known for large-scale, site-specific performances blending theater, dance, and circus with unique sway-pole apparatus. They will come to life on the streets of the Dallas Arts District! SWAY collaborates with diverse creatives, multidisciplinary performers, and specialist production teams to deliver dynamic, accessible performances worldwide. The Changing Perspectives Block Party will also feature multi-award-winning Tejano music artist Monica Saldivar and her band, community muralist Ebony Lewis, and more. Don’t miss this family-friendly event showcasing talented artists from Dallas, along with food trucks, a community mural, and more! Additionally, the Dallas Arts District is collaborating with Dallas ISD to bring hundreds of students to a lecture demonstration by SWAY at Sammons park, in front of the Winspear Opera House, to explore the STEAM concepts inherent in vertical performances.
